I booked this hotel as a little treat for myself, and it really exceeded my expectations. The room was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was unusual — up three stairs and absolutely huge! Everything was spotless, and the atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, and the staff were friendly without being overbearing. I got a great deal, but it felt like a luxury stay. I’d definitely come back.

This is a lovely little hotel in Newbury - the rooms are to a high standard and both of our bathrooms looked recently updated. My shower didn’t work it was stuck on bath tap, but that was okay to overlook. Friendly and helpful staff and a good spacious car park with plenty of spaces. We were a little upset to have been told on the night before breakfast was until 10, incorrectly, but when we went down at 9.20 it actually ended at 9.30 so we missed out on most stuff as it was being cleared away. Overall for the price though we were very impressed and would happily stay here again.

Pros :- Quiet , clean , near the city center of Newbury , place is historical and classic Cons :- No elevators , mean you have to carry your own bags up to all the stairways . My bathtub , the had in issue with the faucet, No cold water only very hot water . This mean I have less then 2 min to get my shower before water became extremely hot . I reported this the Secend day , yet didn’t follow up and noting get fixed .

Right in the centre of town. Good hotel with nice rooms and lots of communal space. It is also a wedding venue. My room was overlooking the street so I heard the dustcart at 5:30am!

Had a wonderful afternoon tea here, great value and impeccable service from the team, constant flow of coffee and sandwiches from heaven! Booked again before we left. Also free parking at back of the hotel made it an evening easier trip!

Afternoon tea. It was lovely. Not far from the shopping precinct which had a fabulous butchers Griffins. There were many independents shops. It was nice to browse. We were served by Sion who was great very professional friendly and polite.

Perfect location for the Newbury races or Theatre, shops and restaurants. We have stayed 2 years in a row. Remember to check prices direct with hotel and ask for a quiet room on top floor.

We were pleasantly surprised that this was so good! We were after a hotel that was near a venue where our grandson and his fiancée were playing in a band and this was perfectly located for us. It was priced very competitively and we thought it may be a run-down, town centre hotel, but nothing could be further from the truth! Staff were very friendly, from my booking directly with them, where they matched the best price I had found. The receptionist very pleasant and helpful and we had a lovely ground floor room right by the car park- just as I had requested, given I am disabled. The room was modern, spacious and nicely laid out with a good bathroom, complete with bath and shower. The bed was large and comfortable and there were good tea/coffee making facilities. Better than some high priced places we've stayed at. Breakfast was included and was very good, with quite a range of continental and British food. We also ate at the restaurant in the evening and found the food very tasty, cooked to order and reasonably priced. The only downside was the limited menu choices, so we're glad we were only staying one night! Recommended
